The Crane’s Name is Roxanne

This is the giganto-crane they assembled to disassemble the temporary bridge right next to the writers’ studios. They started jackhammering the asphalt on Friday, and now we rest. Looking forward to seeing the crane in action.  The crane’s name is Roxanne.

  1. of COURSE, one would schedule a construction project during the writers’ retreat. Why not? If Hemingway could write through a bullfight, you can make peace with Roxanne. I look forward to the art that comes from this group — all jagged lines and staccato rhythms. (The bells, bells, bells, bells….) Tonight: Dr Liz Ahl reads from her new work, Sand Cranes: Songs for Roxanne.
